VIEVE PRESS DINNER Old Sessions House
We were delighted when in 2021, Ashlee Louise Studio asked us to cater to high-performance beauty brand, Vieve’s press dinner at Old Sessions House – the magnificent eighteenth-century former courthouse in Clerkenwell.
We welcomed guests to the intimate, romantically-styled candle-lit venue with arrival drinks of Aperol Spritz or housemade lemonade along with two types of arancini – Fillet of Beef Bolognaise Arancini with Aged Parmesan, or Jerusalem Artichoke and Mozzarella Arancini with Mushroom Ketchup. Guests proceeded up the iconic staircase ascending to the first floor with a vast opalescent glass screen and a gallery that enfolds the space, beneath the dome towering overhead, entering the beautifully distressed private dining room.
We served an elegant four-course meal that exuded style and sophistication. Starters such as Burrata with Roasted Delica Pumpkin and Walnut and Cumin Muhammara were preceded by a primi pasta course – tapping into one of the year’s biggest food trends – featuring Prawn, Courgette, Lemon, Garlic and Chilli Linguine; Fresh Basil Pesto Orecchiette, and Aubergine and Ricotta Polpette with Shaved Aged Parmesan and Basil. This was followed by mains of Roasted Cod, Butternut, and Crispy Crushed Potatoes with Almond and Langoustine Aioli, or House Smoked Pumpkin, Heritage Carrot and Pumpkin Seed Dukkah, and desserts of Limoncello Sorbet with Almond Biscotti, or Coffee Panna Cotta, Salted Caramel, Hazelnut and Chocolate Crumb.
The Highlights
We had the pleasure of curating an evening of hospitality that embodied what Vieve represents as a beauty brand. The notion of high-performance, aspirational yet accessible, beauty founded on an innate passion for artistry was reflected in our bespoke, Italian-inspired menu that saw familiar classic dishes such as arancini and polpette (meatballs) reimagined with a modern, local, seasonal twist. The idea of Vieve’s beautifully blendable make-up was matched by the beautifully-distressed neutral-tones of The Old Session house interiors, and a focus on creating natural seamless transitions throughout the evening structured by considered food and drink offering.
