CENTRE FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE The CSJ Awards
Social Pantry was delighted to be asked to cater the Awards Dinner for the Centre for Social Justice at St John’s Smith Square. The CSJ Awards exist to elevate the voices of those working to tackle poverty around the country, ensuring they are heard by decision-makers in Westminster and given opportunities to widen the reach of their inspirational work.
Guests were greeted with welcome drinks and canapes including Whiskey and Star Anise Cured Salmon with Beetroot and Apple Pickle, and North Sea Scallops with caramelised Jerusalem Artichoke Puree and Crisp, whilst a Gospel Choir performed getting the evening off to a joyful and atmospheric start. After a welcome speech and preliminary performance, we served a main course of Roast Cord Fed Chicken, Pumpkin Spiced Dukkah, Truffle Cauliflower Puree, Potato Terrine and Glazed Carrots, or plant-based alternative of House Smoked Pumpkin with heritage Carrot, Pumpkin Seed Dukkah and Crispy Kale. The awards were presented in between courses, followed by a showstopping dessert of Salted Honey Tart, Caramelised Fig and Muscovado Crème Fraiche, along with tea, coffee and petits fours by our pastry chef Nuvala.
It was an honour to be a part of this annual high profile award ceremony and we look forward to continuing to support and celebrating the incredible work by Centre for Social Justice and its patrons.
The Highlights
The CSJ Awards exist to elevate the voices of those working to tackle poverty around the country, ensuring they are heard by decision-makers in Westminster and given opportunities to widen the reach of their inspirational work. A commitment to social justice, opportunities and community empowerment via ex-offender employment is at the heart of what we do at Social Pantry. Therefore it was a particular honour to be chosen to cater this prestigious award ceremony and provide additional value throughout our own social initiatives.
