NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY Social Pantry's Autumn Showcase
We recently had the pleasure of hosting some of Social Pantry’s wonderful friends at the National Portrait Gallery, the evening served as an opportunity to thank both clients and suppliers for their continued support throughout the year and share with them an exclusive viewing of Yevonde: A Life in Colour, followed by a delicious and seasonal five-course dinner in the splendour of the Victorian Galleries.

The Menu
Guests were welcomed into the Victorian Galleries with an array of seasonal canapés including a Truffle Honey Waffle with Mushroom Parfait, Pear and Hazelnut Brioche served with a Baron Bigod Cheese Custard, Walnut Ketchup and Blackberry; a Wholewheat Doughnut with Salmon Belly Paté, Caviar and Chives; and a Beef Tartare with Potato Rosti and a Mustard Egg Sauce to name but a few.
The five-course sit down dinner got off to a suitably seasonal start, with an Amuse Bouche of Oat Tart, Jerusalem Artichoke, Scottish Girolle and Pickled Walnut, and then onto the starter of Mushroom Eclair with Egg Custard, Oyster and Shiitake Mushrooms and a drizzling of Truffle Honey.
Main courses included a delicious cut of Packington Estate Venison with an Onion Compote, Glazed Carrots, Heritage Kale and Jus; and Celeriac with Potato and Isle of Mull Cheddar Gratin, Confit Leeks and a Celeriac Crisp.
Our winter desserts are always a crowd-pleaser and these were certainly no exception. Our chefs created both a Salted Honey Tart with Caramelised Fig and Muscovado Crème Fraîche; as well a Plum Sorbet Served with a Spice Poached Pear, a Hazelnut Sponge and a Ginger Crumble.
The evening concluded with an exceptional cheese, our favourite Tunworth served warm, atop Waffle with a shaving of Wiltshire Truffle.

Thank you for such a wonderful evening last night. It was so wonderful to see the new renovations and such a treat to then dine in the galleries. The food and service were superb.
