NATIONAL THEATRE up next gala
When Up Next Gala Dinner returned to the National Theatre for the first time since 2019, Social Pantry was honoured to be asked to provide the catering. This prestigious event celebrates the extraordinary talents of theatre-makers and the impact they make on the lives of people across the UK and around the world.
Social Pantry prepared over 2000 canapes including Fillet of Beef with Walnut Ketchup and Cep Mayonnaise Haddock Beignets with Sweetcorn Mayonnaise, and Zero Waste Crispy Fish Skin with Tuna Tartare and Miso Mayo for the NYE drinks reception. Following a welcome speech from National Theatre Director Rufus Norris, and specifically commissioned performance by Rufus and Deputy Artistic Director, Clint Dyer, guests sat down to a bespoke dinner by Social Pantry on the stage of the Lyttelton theatre.
We served main courses of Curried Stonebass, Roasted and Pureed Celeriac, Lovage Crisps and Burnt Apple Dressing; Wild Mushroom Vol au Vent with Seasonal Greens and Brie, or House Smoked Pumpkin with Heritage Carrot, Pumpkin Seed Dukkah and Crispy Kale. Dessert of Early Green and Blood Orange Pudding, coffee and edible gold dusted chocolate truffles were served whilst guests bid for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in an auction that included Lunch with Lord Anthony Bridgerton and members of the cast, and a round of golf at Beaverbrook with Damian Lewis to raise £1.7 million.
