Hire Tower Bridge: The Engine Rooms
Tower Bridge is undoubtedly one of the most famous and defining landmarks of London, recognised across the globe. But while the bridge is known for its impressive exterior, there are few who know what’s inside. Tower Bridge is in fact home to not just one but three different event spaces – The North Tower Lounge, The Engine Rooms and The High Level Walkways – which can be hired for a range of events, from corporate meetings and intimate weddings to larger dinners and parties.
Looking for an iconic London venue in which to host your next event? In this mini series, we explore the three different event spaces within Tower Bridge. This time, we delve into The Engine Rooms.

Inside Tower Bridge: The Engine Rooms
Situated underneath the southern approach to Tower Bridge, the Victorian Engine Rooms are made up of a series of spacious yet cosy chambers housing the original, coal-powered engines used to lift the bridge. A unique and truly memorable events space, the Engine Rooms can be hired for evening events (from 7pm to 1am) of up to 150 for a standing reception, and up to 60 for a reception and seated dinner.
As well as the impressive steam engines which were used to lift the bridge’s bascules up until 1976 (when it was switched to electricity), the rooms also feature a range of exhibits about the bridge, its history and how it works. This not only provides a unique and interesting form of entertainment for guests, it also creates a great talking point, ensuring a sociable atmosphere at any event held here.
