No and Low Alcohol Alternatives Are Here to Stay
It starts with Dry January
Almost nine million people are planning to go alcohol-free for Dry January. Studies show those who do Dry January often drink less in the long run having had a taste of sobriety. Plus drinking in general is on the decline. 26% of 16–25-year-olds are teetotal, setting themselves up for lifelong lower alcohol consumption. This is reshaping cultural norms, driving demand and steering trends within the no and low alcohol market.

…but it started before January
At Social Pantry, we’ve always taken our non-alcoholic drinks offering seriously. Having catered hundreds of weddings and events, we have witnessed the growing demand for non-alcoholic alternatives first hand. The bespoke nature of our offering allowed us to ride the discovery wave and respond to this demand ahead of other hospitality businesses where change takes place more slowly.
Pioneering partners
Social Pantry works closely with The 43 Club to deliver exceptional bespoke drinks service at our events. The ambition and imagination of our kitchen team is the perfect complement to the experience, expertise and industry-contacts possessed by The 43 Club’s mixologists and bartenders.

Nothing missing apart from the alcohol
Our innovative, inspiring non-alcoholic offering has always provided a point of distinction. We make a point of providing equally delicious and inspiring non-alcoholic alternatives that offer the theatre, style, sophistication, heritage and epicurean experience associated with alcohol consumption. We are also proud to offer a rigorously sustainable menu of soft drinks from brands that are disrupting the soft drinks market by doing things differently. High end luxury, Low ABV
We pair house made, zero-waste and foraged elements with the best non-alcoholic spirits and innovative soft drinks commercially available. This results in the unique, elevated experience expected for high-end luxury events. Plus it’s something people can appreciate all year round, not just during Dry January!
More than a glass half full
Non-alcoholic alternatives have come a long way in recent years. Initially, the appeal of non-alcoholic alternatives centred on avoiding the negative consequences associated with alcohol consumption rather than being particularly desirable in and of themselves. That has changed.

Market divide
The non-alcoholic adult beverage sector has now developed to the extent that there are broadly two emerging categories. One is where brands try to emulate traditional alcoholic drinks. The other is looking to create innovative new products that offer consumers an entirely different product experience.
Disruptive drinks

Seedlip – creator of the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirits – is undoubtedly a pioneer in the non-alcoholic adult beverage sector breaking boundaries to create a unique product and experience utilising herbs, fruits and spices. Cornwall-based High Point brings together know-how in fermentation and distilling to create the world’s first fermented non-alcoholic aperitif and digestif. Many of Britain’s best craft brewers including Infinite Session, Drop Bear Beer Co, Beavertown and Big Drop all produce low alcohol beer.

If France can do it, we can do it too…
Even France – a country synonymous with producing and drinking wine – is one of the fastest-growing markets in the global boom in alcohol-free drinks. A growing number of vineyards are producing alcohol-free options alongside their standard production, as well as vineyards dedicated entirely to producing non-alcoholic wine.
Alcohol free excellence
No and low alcohol drinks now occupy a desirable and luxurious category with brands and products that offer liquid excellence, provenance and heritage. You can expect elevated drinking experience to rival alcohol. We’re proud to be at the forefront of this important change to how we drink, gather and celebrate.
