What I’m loving this June

Worth a visit
If you haven’t managed to get a slot a Garson’s infamous PYO it is definitely worth the fight! I went down on a Friday afternoon as it is harder to get a weekend slot than tickets to Wimbledon! I love it. It is great fun with the kids, the juicy strawberries are a reminder of why we need to eat local and seasonal as it really is British berries at their best.
Worth the squeeze
At the beginning of June, I needed a reset and my go-to is always Press. This time I did a juice and soup cleanse which was not as mentally daunting as switching to a full juice after my endless sourdough eating! I enjoyed it, day 1 is the hardest but after that I felt the results and was glad for the much-needed reset.
Worth a wander
I love a museum shop or gallery cafe and so when on a site visit to Chelsea Physic Garden I discovered their potting shed and beautiful shop – I was thrilled! Being on my bike was the only thing stopping the 65-year-old gardener in me buying all the plants and clocking off for the day to tend to my garden! Tucked away but in a heavenly oasis, if you are passing and love plants, I’d recommend popping in!
Worth a try
I enjoyed my first lymphatic drainage experience at Shape House, in Marylebone, having been targeted on insta for what felt like months I couldn’t resist booking in. I was intrigued and up for anything that helped reduce the sourdough bloat! The therapist was wonderful, extremely informative and the 90minute session worked wonders. I am excited to go back for an express session over the summer.
Worth a ticket
I was lucky enough to be given tickets to the opening night of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. It is a favourite of mine as I go every year with my Dad, and it is glorious. I cannot recommend it enough. Each room is overwhelming in the best way, there are so many, different pieces of art to take in. From a knitted cabbage and life like car, to beautiful oil paintings and abstract sculptures. Anything goes and I’m here for it. (The gift shop, obviously worth a snoop too!)
Worth a buy
Yum. Yum. Yum. One of my favourite Social Pantry suppliers – whenever we ask for exciting cheeses to try, they never disappoint. Kirkham’s a cow’s milk cheddar like cheese from Lancashire, Brefu Bach and the Pyghtle both raw Sheep’s milk, soft cheeses, are all incredible. If you need to elevate your picnic, these slathered on a cracker, with or without chutney, will impress even the most experienced cheese lover! I am noting these for my Christmas cheeseboard too.
Worth a read
I am excited for this book, recommended by a friend of Eil herself, I cannot wait to tuck into this book, most likely with the cheese board next to me and indulge in a fun, relatable read! “Eli Davies explores what happens when food is uncoupled from domestic duty and romantic relationships and what it means to cook (or not) for yourself and by yourself” Anonymous reviewer.
