Welcome back to The Social Side of Food: a monthly series exploring how great workplace catering does more than just feed teams. This time: building trust in your business
At Social Pantry, we believe food has a quiet but powerful role to play in shaping how people connect. In boardrooms and breakout areas alike, the way food is shared can influence atmosphere, focus and trust – especially when the stakes are high.
This was particularly true at a recent investor day breakfast and lunch we delivered for a leading French bank and financial services group in London. With just 15 senior guests, the brief was clear: the catering needed to feel refined, seamless and thoughtful, supporting meaningful conversation without drawing attention away from it.
Our experienced Workplace Partner oversaw every detail on the day. Breakfast and lunch were presented sharing-style, beautifully laid out in ceramic bowls and platters.
For lunch, a curated selection of sandwiches and vibrant sharing salads offered food that felt elevated yet unfussy – designed to keep energy levels high and conversation flowing, without disrupting the rhythm of the meeting.
Reflecting on the event, the client said: “The food was excellent and well-presented,” adding that it was “delivered on time and successfully kept fresh throughout.” She also noted that she was “particularly impressed by the friendly and helpful manner” of the on-site waiter – a reminder that service is just as important as what’s on the plate.
Crucially, there were “no complaints at all from our Paris office regarding your catering,” reinforcing just how smoothly the day ran and how important consistency and attention to detail are at international corporate events.
The client also highlighted that Social Pantry’s B Corp status played a role in keeping us front of mind for future events – reflecting a growing shift towards partners who combine exceptional food with responsible business practices.
At Social Pantry, we know that food doesn’t just fuel meetings, it shapes experiences. When it’s prepared with care, served with intention and rooted in shared values, food becomes a powerful tool for building confidence, connection and trust.
