Who’s joining us for our Social Supper Club? Here’s the deets…
For one night only, top chefs, including our very own Alex Head, Adam Handling (The Frog), Anna Barnett (Grazia, Vogue, ELLE), Richard Falk & Robin Gill (The Dairy) and Lee Westcott (Typing Room) will join forces with young offender charity Key4Life for our Social Supper Club.
In support of Key4Life’s groundbreaking work on tackling the root causes of reoffending, we have teamed up with the charity to handpick five young ex-offenders who have shown a special interest in the food industry to help devise a delicious five-course menu for the Social Supper Club.
Selected for their hardworking approach to rehabilitation, each individual young man has been paired with a chef to help prepare, cook and serve a five-course menu to paying guests. Focusing on a course each (canapés, starter, vegetarian starter, main & dessert), the ex-offender will also take part in a three-day restaurant kitchen work taster during the week prior to the event to produce an exclusive dish for the night.
The Social Supper Club is a fantastic opportunity for young offenders to gain invaluable work experience for their CV whilst showcasing their culinary talent to a public audience. The aim of the Social Supper Club is to support young offenders’ rehabilitation and raise awareness of one of the most intractable social issues facing Britain today: the high rate of re-offending among young males ages 18-25. Alongside live cooking from the chef teams, selected Key4Life individuals will be directly involved in the project through paid front-of-house and kitchen porter roles.
