Being Creative At Social Pantry
We have noticed an increased trend amongst our clients asking for Monochrome theme events. And with Social Pantry staying ahead of the trends when it comes to all things culinary, we have found ourselves cooking up all sorts of charcoal infused and monochrome inspired recipes.
Over the last few months, we have done events for both Primark and Dune where they were both launching their latest Autumn / Winter 2018 lines. There were charcoal lattes, monochrome cake displays, blackberry & charcoal pancakes, charcoal waffles, charcoal bread with black and white themed toppings along with amazing monochrome cocktails to wash it all down.
We provided black and white juices too which, you guessed it – contained charcoal & a delicious vanilla shake which went down a storm. For lunch, we created striking dark themed salads which were all styled on beautiful monochrome serving platters.
Everywhere you turn these days, especially in London, there’s a street food stall nearby serving up an authentic meal to an eager passer-by, so it’s no wonder that everybody wants street food style eating at their events.
Especially when it removes all the formality of a sit down dinner. Lately we have done quite a few events with the popular sports brand Footlocker who wanted to create a cool street food style event with branded food. So we created branded greaseproof paper on which their street food feast could be handed out to guests along with branded Mac ‘n’ Cheese pots, bamboo cones spilling with sweet potato fries & stacks of pulled pork sliders.
We have also created delicious street food menu’s which can be enjoyed cold when event spaces prevent an oven from being onsite, for example; Coronation cauliflower taco’s, chipotle chicken taco’s and salt beef bagels.
Harvey Nichols recently hosted a press breakfast in store and had asked for an easy to eat, delicious and eye catching breakfast so we served up inspirational breakfast canapés such as, mini egg Florentines, banana & nut butter bites, mini egg & bacon muffins, sweet potato crisp with avocado & crispy chorizo & a range of freshly made juices.
Brave Soul, the fashion label, recently celebrated their 50th anniversary and they wanted to have a boozy & indulgent affair which kicked off with mini prosecco bottles for guests to sip on and enjoy with a variety of canapés & finger foods including mini burgers, fish & chip cones, chicken skewers, lamb balls & croquettes!
It’s wonderful working with influential creatives and one of the most iconic brands we recently catered for was for Orla Kiely who wanted to host a private dinner in her roof top house in Bermondsey. We worked closely with Orla’s team to dress the table in true Orla fashion from glassware, flowers, invitations and linen.
