Looking back at last summer, wow what a hot one it was. We catered for so many weddings but this one really was a showstopper so we wanted to share a little of it with you.
Located within the beautiful countryside of Oxfordshire, it was a hot Saturday in June, with almost 200 guests as well as 2 Bengal cats & a black Lab who were very much a part of the bridal party! We love nothing more than the family pets being part of such special occasions.
Social Pantry catered for two parties for the happy couple who wanted a garden party complete with multiple food stations & a cocktail bar by the fab team behind The Rum Runner. This was later followed by a black tie evening reception with canapés and a 3 course dinner which was followed by 2 more late night food stations with guests dancing until the early hours of the morning!
What was so fab about this wedding was that the couple very much wanted to bring together inspiration from countries they’d either grown up in or visited and therefore had special connections and memories they wanted to have present on the day. There were Swiss influences combined with traditional English countryside touches along with holidays in the Mediterranean.
This wedding started with a traditional Church of England ceremony – the bridal party wore morning suits and modest lace covered dresses – followed by a garden reception at the family home with creative grazing stations, fresh oysters and a luxe twist on British treats like pork scratchings and crudités with marmite butter.
Guests were then transported back to local hotels, returning later for a black tie cocktail reception and dinner party – with a fresh, seasonal and delicious menu before speeches and cutting of the cake.
The marquee was extremely elegant with stunning table styling such as ink blue table cloths, vintage ivory napkins, pretty detailed crockery, gold etched glassware, mini menu booklets, tied with blue velvet ribbon and a white monogrammed wax seal, rustic wooden cross back chairs and the softest blush palette for the floral centrepieces.
A private nightclub tent was revealed for the first dance, complete with day beds, glass roof, sail cloths, mirrored bar, white dance floor, palm leaves and orchids’ – Studio Sorores. And as the night went on, we provided and “Oxfordshire Cheese themed Station” along with a fresh, mouthwatering kebab station.
